15 IPS [summing + mix bus compression + 15ips tape recorder] KEYWORDS: VINTAGE + NON LINEARITIES + GLUE + TAPE COMPRESSION + TAPE SATURATION + DIRTY

The 15IPS summing is done by using the same combination of NEVE 8816 summing mixer and NEVE 33609 Compressor / Limiter we offer with  DELUXE SUMMING, giving your sound the sought after analog warmth, punch and definition NEVE is renowned for. Your master stereo track is then recorded onto quarter inch tape with an extremely rare and cool sounding  reel to reel 2-track tape recorder from the 1970s (AKAI 4000D PRO) at a speed of 15 Inch per Second.

The non linearities which define the sound of magnetic tape give your track some attitude and vintage mojo: tape saturation and compression, a little wow and flutter. This makes for a warm, round and gritty sounding master track with a lot of character. You will not be able to truly achieve this sound with tape emulation.

We recommend using this option if you want to achieve a vintage 'garage rock' feel or add lo-fi / dirty qualities to your sound.

We can also run your individual tracks (drum loops, vocals, synths etc...) through it  to add some color and gentle tape compression as well as to use the non-linearities as an effect. Cool results guaranteed.

State in the order e mail if you have any specific demands.

PRICING IS PER SONG.

How do we proceed?

Export your audio tracks, individual or stems (44,1kHz / 48kHz / 96kHz) including all effects, volumes and automation.

Don't forget to label your files accordingly.

Send us an email at contact@williecortez.co.uk, stating SUMMING as the object, to get access to a dropbox folder where you can upload your files.

Once payment is made we will send you an uncompressed, high quality .wav or .aif of your stereo mix within 48 hours.

NOTE: Analog summing is part of the mixing process and although we can use (on demand) a stereo compressor / limiter on the mix bus, this process is not a mastering service. Thus the files delivered will have a healthy dose of headroom so your favourite mastering engineer can work comfortably.
